Mistral E-Signature Integration

Integrate E-signature to Mistral with Firma.dev and Mistral logos.

Most agent tools only read. They pull a record, summarize a thread, look something up and hand it back. Sending a document for signature is a different class of action, because it creates a real legal artifact that lands in someone's inbox and returns binding. You can now give that capability to a Mistral agent.

Register Firma.dev as a Connector once and every Mistral surface can send signing requests, list templates, and check status as native tool calls. The Conversations API, the Agents API, Le Chat, and Vibe all reach the same tools. This is the short version of how it works. The full walkthrough lives on the pages linked below.

Why the Connector route is clean

Firma.dev exposes its API as an MCP server, and Mistral speaks the same protocol through Connectors. That means there is no custom tool schema for you to hand-write, version, and keep in sync every time an endpoint changes. You register the Connector one time and the tools show up across Conversations, Agents, and Vibe. Your API key stays encrypted in the Mistral workspace and never reaches the model or the end user, so the agent sees tool names and arguments rather than credentials.

What the agent can actually do

Three capabilities cover most real cases, and none of them need glue code once the Connector is live. It can send a signing request straight from a prompt, so "send the standard NDA to alice@example.com" becomes a real request going to a real inbox. It can track status in conversation and answer from live data instead of a stale guess. And with webhooks it can react when a document is signed, firing off the next step the moment a signer finishes, whether that is updating the CRM or handing off to a follow-up agent.

Keep a human in the loop

Agent-initiated signing is safe to ship as long as you gate the send. Any request that reaches an external counterparty should sit behind a confirmation step, and Mistral's human-in-the-loop approval flow is built for that. The agent proposes the send, a person reads back the template and signer details, and only then does anything leave. One extra turn, well worth it for a document that carries legal wieght.

Where the code lives

This page is the case for doing it. The step-by-step setup, the manual function-calling path, inline auth for multi-tenant builds, webhooks, and embedded signing are all in the technical guide.

Get started

Pricing does not change because the request came from an agent. Firma.dev is pay-as-you-go at €0.029 per envelope (~3¢ USD), with no per-seat licenses and no minimum, so an agent that sends two envelopes this month costs you two envelopes.
